Waldoboro Police beat: Arrests, stolen television set, fishing poles

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 254 calls for service from May 31-June 11. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    May 31                                              

    Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen about stolen fishing poles.

    June 1                                                

    Fuller investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 2:44 p.m. Lester Brown, 51, of Nobleboro, was attempting to go around a vehicle on the right, striking, Jane Buffett, 71, of Camden, who was making a right turn into a parking lot.

    June 3         

    Mark Carlson, 54, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Fuller on a warrant.

    Fuller is investigating a report from a citizen that someone broke into her residence and stole her television set.

    June 4         

    Fuller is investigating a report from a gas station about a $20 gasoline drive-off.

    Tani Christie, 47, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Officer Dwight Jones for domestic violence assault and obstructing report of a crime.

    June 5         

    Officer Thomas Bartunek investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 4:43 p.m. involving Joshua Nason, 42, of Portland, who was making a delivery to a local business. Nason struck a power line causing a Central Maine Power pole to break. The pole landed on a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck parked in the lot.

    Tani Christie, 47, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Bartunek for a violation of conditional release.

    Bartunek investigated an accident in a parking lot off the Atlantic Highway at 10:40 p.m. Brooke Post, 18, of St. George, was backing in a parking lot and struck a vehicle belonging to Jessica Krise (no age and town listed by police) which was parked legally.

    June 9         

    Officer Andrew Santheson investigated an accident on the Atlantic Highway at 8:09 p.m. Sean Huntington, 37, of Rockland, was traveling northbound on the Atlantic Highway when a deer came into the roadway from the driver’s side. The operator was unable to avoid the deer.
