Waldoboro Police beat: Accidents

    WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 90 calls for service from March 7-12. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

    March 7

    Officer Nathaniel Jack investigated an accident on the Dutch Neck Road at 9:00 a.m. Jake Pedreira, 17, of Thomaston, was driving a 2004 Volvo sedan. Pedreira was traveling eastbound on the Dutch Neck Road and exceeded the posted speed limit, which caused him to lose control and go off the roadway. No injuries were reported.

    March 11   

    Officer Dwight Jones investigated an accident on Jefferson Street at 5:40 a.m. Aryn Ducharme, 20, of Waldoboro, was driving a 2008 Ford sedan. Ducharme was traveling southbound on Jefferson Street, hit a patch of ice while negotiating a curve and slid out of control, striking a telephone pole on the left side of the roadway and coming to rest 100 feet from the pole. No injuries were reported.
