WALDOBORO — The Waldo Theatre is extending auditions for a late-June production of the play Almost, Maine to include safe, in-person auditions April 21 and 22 at the theater (916 Main St).
Written by John Cariani, Almost, Maine “is a series of loosely connected tales about love, each with a compelling couple at its center, each with its own touch of sorcery,” according to The Waldo, in a news release
Actors – ages: late-teens to early 60s – will rehearse on Zoom in April and in-person with Director Andrea Itkin in May. During in-person rehearsals, The Waldo team will be checking in with the cast about Covid-19 vaccination and testing status’ to keep everyone safe, according to The Waldo.
This will be the first play to be produced in the newly renovated Waldo Theatre space. Set for June 17 - 19 and June 24 - 26, several live performances are planned with limited audiences as well as live-streamed and/or on-demand recorded performances via The Waldo’s new streaming system. The safety of the cast, crew, and audiences will be foremost in determining performance conditions.
In-person auditions are by appointment only, between 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Masks are required unless actively auditioning.
