Waldo County General Hospital offers drive-thru flu clinics in October

Event has passed

BELFAST — Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital are offering weekly drive-thru flu clinics in October. The drive-thru flu clinics have been designed to be user friendly, and no appointments are necessary.

Those seeking a flu shot need only follow the signs at the location of their choice. These will lead to a drive-thru designated by traffic cones where clinical staff wearing personal protective equipment will greet them and administer the flu vaccine.

At PBMC, the drive thru clinics will be held Mondays, October 4, 11, 18 and 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., outside the new health center building located at 15 Anchor Drive.

At WCGH, the drive thru clinics will be held Wednesdays, October 6, 13, 20 and 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 125 Northport Avenue, across the street from the hospital.

These clinics are open to insured adults; participants are asked to bring their insurance cards to the clinic. Self-pay will not be accepted. High dose flu shots will be as stock availability permits. All drive thru clinics are weather permitting.

To ensure patients receive the best and safest care, Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital have put in place additional safety measures during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. To learn more about how we have created a safe space for patients, go to mainehealth.org/coronavirus-covid-19/safe-appointments.

MaineHealth encourages everyone to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as the best way to end the pandemic. Vaccinations are available at The Pharmacy at PBMC, PBMC Walk-In Care, WCGH Walk-In Care, and from PBMC/WCGH primary care providers.
