LIBERTY — “If you want to have input about the future of broadband in rural Maine and get to know some of the state's broadband ‘movers and shakers,’ plan to join with others from around the state as the Maine Broadband Coalition comes to Lake St. George Brewing Company (Route 3 in Liberty, near the Circle K and John’s Ice Cream on Thursday, March 16, from 4 - 6 p.m.,” said Waldo Broadband Corporation, in a news release.

This informal gathering, co-hosted by the Waldo Broadband Corporation (WBC), will feature a session led by Myles Smith, Executive Director of the Maine Broadband Coalition, in which MBC seeks to gather opinions from attendees about how community members could put better broadband to use, and how to best accelerate efforts to make broadband a reality.

Christa Thorpe, of the Island Institute, will also update the group on activities planned to help make sure everyone in the communities benefits from improved broadband, including older citizens and those that may be facing other challenges.

“And yes, WBC Board members will be on hand to update you about the latest efforts to obtain state and federal funding for the WBC, so that we can actually build a network in our towns,”

If you have any questions, just send an email to info@waldobroadband.org,  and the WBC will help you find answers.

There's no charge to attend, but you'll need to buy your own beverage. Pinnacle Grill will also be on hand with food for purchase.
