UPDATE: Frankfort 12-year-old found safe

    UPDATE: 8:30 p.m., March 5: The missing 12-year-old from Frankfort has been located by authorities and is now safe. Maine State Police thanks the public for its assistance.


    Maine State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old from Frankfort.

    Atum (pronounced Adam) Hosea, 12, walked into the woods behind his residence on the Treat Point Road in Frankfort this morning around 9 a.m.

    He was last seen at Deb’s Store in the Stream Road in Winterport around 11:30 a.m.

    Atum is described as Caucasian, between 90-100 pounds, 5-foot, four-inches in height, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing black jeans, black jacket, and a black hat, sand-colored work boots, and carrying a large tan backpack (pictured).

    Anyone with information regarding Atum’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Maine State Police and ask for Tpr. Thomas Bureau; 207-624-7076 x9.

    Assisting with the search are members of the Maine Warden Service, and volunteer firefighters. Those searching are concerned about the falling temperatures, and if he has contacted a friend or is staying at a friend’s house please make contact and let them know. The concern is for Atum being warm and safe.
