ROCKLAND — On Saturday, Sept. 12, 53 days before the election, the Midcoast community will come together at 11 a.m., in Rockland's Harbor Park for “United We Vote,” a rally to support voter rights, registration, education, and engagement.
“The event will activate and empower community members by providing tools and resources to answer the question so many of us are asking: ‘What can I do?’” said Midcoast Indivisible, in a news release.
The rally will include: youth speakers, a sidewalk solidarity rally, and live music. In addition, there will be stations where attendees can get more information about how to best support voter engagement including: voter registration, volunteering at the polls, how to support local candidates, phone banking, and more.
“This election is a defining moment for our country, and in the lead up to November 3, when voting access and rights are under attack – we each have an essential role to play in supporting voter engagement, excitement, and turnout,” said Jess Goldfin, organizer of the event.
United We Vote is being held in partnership with Midcoast Indivisible and with the Knox County Democrats. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
