Union church converts annual Turkey Supper to take out meal

Event has passed

UNION — On Friday, May 29, The People’s United Methodist Church, in Union, will be offering their annual Turkey Supper as a take out meal. The event was postponed this year due to the coronavirus, but church members have decided that the supper will go on, according to the Church, in a news release.

The meal will be prepared by a limited number of masked and gloved cooks in the church kitchen under clean and sanitary conditions. Each meal will be portioned into a microwaveable and biodegradable container.

This year’s menu will consist of home cooked roasted turkey with stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, cranberry sauce and a homemade roll. Dessert will be a slice of homemade wild blueberry cake.

Tickets are $12 per meal and must be purchased in advance by calling Joyce Grotton at 785-2651. Meals can be picked up at the improvised drive-through at the church on May 29, between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Signs at the church will direct the flow of traffic and there will be people to guide you. The church is located at 21 Depot Street in Union.

“Please support the church with your purchase of a delicious turkey supper; all proceeds from the event are used for the benefit of the church,” said the Church.
