ROCKLAND — On Tuesday, May 4, at 6 p.m., local young musicians will present a multimedia performance in the Community Room at the Rockland Public Library.
The concert features young musicians in the Midcoast area. Including violinists Scarlet Labbé-Watson, and Lily Rogers, violist Sophia Scheck, cellist Raya Luehman, and pianist Nate Davis.
“They are all talented creative musicians from the area,” said a news release.
The poetry will be read by Anna Piconi.
The concert dives into the emotional aspects of climate change through a diverse array of poetry. The poetry includes works by Mary Oliver and Amanda Gorman along with a collection of poems written by local teen poets. The deep introspection and insight of these poems is heightened by a collection of musical pieces alternating with the poems.
The concert will feature works by classics like Mozart and Dvorak but also includes music by Soon Hee Newbold and Clara Schumann.
The concert has free admission. For more information visit the library’s website here or call 207-594-0310.
