ROCKPORT — Spring is coming even though it has been a cold, wet Spring, according to Camden Hills Regional High School, in a news release. “We have had a few issues with heat in the greenhouse but students have been hard at work and plants will be ready for sale,” said CHRHS.
There will be lots of vegetable and herb seedlings, as well as, a variety of annuals and perennials. New this year will be a selection of house plants grown and donated by the horticulture program at the Maine state prison.
In addition to plants bags of compost will be for sale. Each bag is about 40 pounds, is high quality, organic compost and sell for $6 each, said CHRHS.
Sale takes place Saturday, May 14, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m., and on Sunday, May 15, from 9 a.m. – noon, at the greenhouse on campus.
The sale always takes place the weekend after Mother’s Day.
The greenhouse is located in back near the loading dock area of the school.
All containers are $3 each. Buy 3 and get a 4th for free.
On Sunday everything is buy one, get one free from 9-11 and the last hour everything is $1.
All proceeds support the Horticulture/ Gardening & Sustainability programs at CHRHS.
