UNION — On Friday, May 14, The People’s United Methodist Church, in Union, will be offering their annual Turkey Supper as a take out meal. Due to the Corona Virus, church members decided last year to offer the traditional meal as a “take out” dinner. With continuing concerns of gatherings in small spaces, once again the Turkey Supper will be a “take out.”
The meal will be prepared by a limited number of masked and gloved cooks in the church kitchen under clean and sanitary conditions. Each meal will be portioned into a microwaveable and biodegradable container.
This year’s menu will consist of homecooked roasted turkey with stuffing and gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, cranberry sauce and a dinner roll. Dessert will be a slice of homemade wild blueberry cake.
Tickets are $15 per meal and must be purchased in advance on or before May 7 by calling Joyce Grotton at 785-2651.
Meals can be picked up at the improvised drive-through at the church on May 14, between 5 and 6 p.m. Signs at the church will direct the flow of traffic and there will be people to guide you.
The church is located at 21 Depot Street, in Union.
“Please support the church with your purchase of a delicious turkey supper; all proceeds from the event are used for the benefit of the church,” said PUMC, in a news release.
