BELFAST — Troy Howard Middle School seventh graders will present an educational slide show entitled “What is Greenhouse Effect? The story of how greenhouse gases cause climate change,” Thursday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m., in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library.

Reilly Newton, Benjamin Allen, and Van Brown are working on taking action beyond the classroom with their learning. They have created a slideshow to explain the Greenhouse Effect and climate change to a younger audience.

This event is sponsored by the Belfast Area Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL).

CCL advocates for a revenue neutral carbon fee and dividend policy that uses market forces to transition away from a carbon based economy. The monthly CCL meeting, immediately following the student presentation, will
include a report on recent meetings between Maine volunteers and congressional delegation to discuss H.R. 763 the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act.
