UNION — The People’s United Methodist Church in Union will be offering the third in its series of monthly take-out suppers on August 28. With the loss of the Union Fair this year, the Church will be offering one of the favorite meals from the Church Café Booth that has been at the fair for many years.
The menu will consist of Pulled Pork on a bun, homemade coleslaw, potato chips and a slice of blueberry pie made from Maine wild blueberries and prepared by the bakers of the church. All food is prepared in a clean and sanitized setting by masked and gloved volunteers, according to People’s United, in a news release.
Tickets are $15 per meal and must be purchased in advance by calling Joyce Grotton at 785-2651. The deadline to order your meal is Wednesday, August 19. Meals can be picked up at the improvised drive-through at the church on August 28, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Signs at the church will direct the flow of traffic and there will be people to guide you. The church is located at 21 Depot Street, in Union, directly behind the Union Post Office.
A limited number of frozen blueberry pies, with baking instructions, will also be available for $18, preorder only.
All proceeds from ticket sales are used to support and benefit the church and its work in the community.
