ROCKLAND — The Trekkers Training Institute is offering a three-day intensive training, Introduction to Trekkers’ Programming Principles, for youth development practitioners and other professionals who work with youth, October 29-31.

Based on Trekkers’ quarter-century of success in the field of youth development, this training will provide participants with an immersive overview of the evidence-based philosophies and approaches that have made the program unique and effective.

The format will include lecture/presentation, experiential learning and community-building activities, as well as provide a platform for participants to share their own expertise and experience.

A former training participant, Austin Muir, Waypoint coordinator at Chewonki, said in a news release: “Meredith Lynt did a fantastic job with both guiding us through the Trekkers curriculum and also incorporating the diverse thoughts and experiences of the group.”

This three-day training is hosted in Rockland, at the Steel House South building. Anyone with an interest and passion for youth development is welcome, according to the release.

The training dates are October 29-31, 2018. For the inaugural class, Trekkers is offering a 50 percent discount. At sign-up use discount code “aspire” and pay $900.

The price includes program materials, continental breakfast, lunch, coffee, and snacks each day. Travel and lodging expenses as well as dinners each evening are not included. For those traveling from out of town, please inquire for local lodging recommendations and discounts.

Scholarships are available and may be requested by emailing TTI Director Meredith Lynt, meredith@trekkers.org.
