SPRUCE HEAD — The Spruce Head Community Hall and Historical Association will host a potluck supper and special guest speaker at the Community Hall, Village Road, on Monday, July 15, at 6 p.m.
Built in 1923, the Hall is a local landmark that recently has undergone major improvements, thanks to an ambitious fundraising effort.
Those attending should bring a casserole, salad, or dessert, plus a place setting. Bread and beverages will be provided.
Following the supper (fortunately), the guest speaker will be Mary Winchenbach, of Somerville, founder of Tirdy Works, purveyor of—mmm—moose-poop jewelry and other unique artifacts.
Guaranteed to be scent-free, the all-organic items include the “Poopsicle,” “Deerings,” “Mooseletoe,” “Dingleberries,” and much more.
Now a veteran of national speaking opportunities, where she has been trailed by “pooparazzi,” Winchenbach will share how she and her partner got started in the “business,” how they find their “material,” and how they fashion their one-of-a-kind creations.
Tirdy Works artifacts will be available for purchase after the presentation.
For anyone wishing to attend just the program, it will begin at approximately 6:45 p.m. Donations are welcome, but the program is free.
