CAMDEN — The Camden Opera House’s SoundCheck series of small safely-distanced concerts in the auditorium re-opened Oct. 16 and the first three shows have sold out. Because the opera house limits seating to 50 at most, it also offers a free livestream of each event on its Facebook page.
The SoundCheck series, which began in August in accordance to Maine’s pandemic strictures, presents one-set/assigned seating Friday night shows with limited $10 advance-only tickets. Ticket sales, via www.camdenoperahouse.com and 236-3154, end 3:30 p.m. day of show. Face coverings are required while in the building.
Upcoming concerts are: Nov. 6, The Gawler Sisters; Nov. 13, the Mark Tipton Trio (a Jazz in June-inspired offering); Nov. 20, Joe E. Walsh and Celia Windsmith; and, Dec. 11, Castlebay’s Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee, presenting a ‘T is Winter Now-Christmas in New England program.
All SoundCheck concerts, plus this summer’s MaineMadeMusic shows by Oshima Brothers, and Luke and Will Mallett, also are posted to the opera house’s YouTube Channel.
Donations to the Community Arts Fund help cover some of the production costs and are always appreciated, according to Camden Opera House, in a news release.
