HOPE — Laurie Chandler, author of Upwards, will speak at the Hope Library, Thursday, April 25, at 6:30 p.m.
Chandler became the first woman to solo thru-paddle New England’s Northern Forest Canoe Trail. Traveling 740 miles alone, she encountered challenges that pushed her to the limits of her courage and endurance.
Chandler kept detailed journals on her 53-day trip which provided the Bremen author the foundation for her first book.
The hour-long talk will include a slide presentation and a book signing.
The program is free and open to the public.
