‘Third Sunday Sit’ meditation in Rockland
ROCKLAND — On Sundays, October 21, November 18, and December 16, Rockland Shambhala will host “Third Sunday Sit,” a morning of sitting and walking meditation from 9 a.m. to noon at 16 School Street in Rockland. These meditation gatherings are open to the public.
The Third Sunday Sit is an extension of Rockland Shambhala’s ongoing meditation gatherings on Sundays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The extended sit is an opportunity to practice meditation for a longer period, as desired, with a group in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Everyone is welcome to come for as much, or as little, of the practice.
The morning will include alternating periods of sitting (25 minutes) and walking (five minutes) meditation. There will be a timekeeper but no instruction. Cushions and chairs are provided.
Beginner and experienced practitioners are welcome, and all meditation traditions are honored. If you come after 9 a.m. or leave early, kindly enter and exit quietly, according to a news release.
Donations are appreciated.
