Teen found unresponsive on Washington road

    WASHINGTON — Knox County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking information regarding a possible hit-and-run that injured a teenager girl in Washington, Monday morning.

    On the morning of July 22, at approximately 9:15 a.m., a passerby contacted Knox County Communications Center after finding an unresponsive teen lying alongside West Washington Road.

    First responders arrived on scene and determined that the girl had sustained injuries that were consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle. The girl was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for serious injuries. No other person or vehicle was found at the scene at the time the girl was discovered.

    According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, in a news release, investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in helping piece together the events that led to the girls injuries.
