Sunday matinee of Searsport District theatre’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

SEARSPORT — Searsport District Middle/High School Theater presents William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, opening Thursday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m.; running Friday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.; and also a Sunday matinee, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. All shows are at Searsport District Middle/High School.
Tickets are $5 at the door to see one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies.
Cast members include Seniors Josh Bragdon as Duke Theseus and Oberon King of the Fairies, Bella Campbell as Hyppolyta, Bethany West as Demetrius, Grace Scharlacken as Helena, Abigail Brown as Titania.
Junior Jacob Mellor plays Lysander, and Junior Melodie Lane plays Hermia.
Sophomore cast members include Jace Nash as Peter Quince, Connor Courtney as Nick Bottom, and Aiden Boyd as Robin Goodfellow and Flute.
SDMHS Theater welcomes many 6th graders into the program: Ian Norwood as Philostrate, Mason Dimond as Egeus and Starveling/Moonshine, Shelby Traves as Peasblossom and Snout/Wall, Anna Traves as First Fairy and Snug/Lion, Maddie Boyd as Cobweb, Violet Deturk as Moth, and Alton “AJ” Penney as Mustardseed.
Directed by Christi Goosman, Lighting and Sound by Ian Cottrell, Technical Direction by Susan Capwell, Costuming by Jennifer Rich, Set work by Collette Jadis and the SDHS VALT students.
