State offices closed Dec. 3

    UPDATED (12/3/19, 8:43 a.m.): Due to worsening weather conditions, all State Offices will be closed today, Tuesday, Dec. 3. 

    “With the snowfall intensifying and winds growing stronger in the coming hours, driving conditions will only become more difficult and dangerous,” said Governor Janet Mills in a statement. “Given the severe inclement weather, I have directed state offices closed for the day. I urge all Maine people to avoid driving if possible and, for those who must, I urge you to do so with caution and to provide ample space to our road maintenance crews and first responders as they work to clear and keep our roads safe.”

    AUGUSTA — Due to incoming severe inclement weather, Governor Janet Mills announced this evening, Dec. 2, that all State of Maine offices will open on a delayed start at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3. 

    “With heavy snowfall, strong gusts of wind, and sleet and ice beginning tonight and moving into tomorrow, I am declaring a delayed opening for state government,” said Gov. Mills in a statement. “We will continue to monitor the weather as it develops, and, in the meantime, I urge all Maine people to drive carefully and to give ample room to road maintenance crews and first responders.”
