St. Thomas' Episcopal Church hosts Noon Music in Lent series
The Noon Music in Lent Series at St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, 33 Chestnut Street, Camden, continues on Friday, March 9, with Rockport-based composer John Mehrmann playing some of his compositions on the piano.
John Mehrmann has written music for the Bangor Symphony, the Portland Symphony’s Kinderkonzerts, music for film, commercials for Reebok, and choral works for VoXX: Voice of Twenty, of which he is currently music director. His music has been described as “lyric, poignant and, at times, very noble” by Grammy-winning conductor Lucas Richman. He teaches at The University of Maine at Augusta and Bay Chamber Music School.
The program starts in the church at noon with brief noonday prayers and then thirty minutes of music. Following the music is a free luncheon of homemade soup, bread and fruit in the Sun Room.
St. Thomas’ is in downtown Camden at 33 Chestnut Street. A handicap accessible entrance is around the corner on Wood Street.
