HOPE — Knox County Fish and Game will start the 2019 season at Beaver Lodge, Thursday, April 18. The public is invited, and everyone is asked to bring a dish for the pot luck supper, which will begin at 6:30 p.m.
At 7:30, David Trahan, executive director of the Sportsmen’s Alliance of Maine (SAM), will address this year’s legislative issues relevant to those who hunt, fish, shoot and use Maine’s outdoors. He will speak about SAM's youth programs and facilities upgrades, and he will also address how clubs throughout the state are getting folks involved with recruiting and educating outdoor enthusiasts.
A veteran of Maine politics, Trahan served two terms as a state senator and four terms in the state house of representatives. During his tenure as a legislator, he chaired the taxation committee and worked to create the government oversight committee.
Through his leadership at the Sportsman’s Alliance of Maine, he has established himself as a very influential and experienced agent of change in Augusta, according to Fish and Game, in a news release.
In addition to the pot luck supper and guest speaker, there will be a 50/50 raffle and one person will win a $100 Cabela's gift card.
