SOUTH THOMASTON — The South Thomaston Public Library has a long list of people and groups to thank, according to the Library, in a news release. The latest on the list is Maine Mid Coast Audubon’s donation through a grant for a bird feeding station: including mounting pole, baffle, seed and suet feeders with supplies to fill them, as well as a pair of binoculars and printed materials.
The library’s thanks will be expressed on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m., at the library for the feeding station’s Grand Opening, following 10 a.m. story hour.
“The grand opening of any bird feeder is generally a fairly quiet affair, ours will maintain the same level of decorum, so no fire works, but there will be companionship and laughter, cookies may be possible,” said STPL. “It is worth noting that the pole and attendant feeders were set up last week to insure that on the big day birds would be present. The birds pretty much took about an hour to find the food so avian activity will be part of the festivities.”
