South Thomaston Fire Dept. to conduct live-burn training Oct. 4

Thu, 09/24/2020 - 10:45am

To all homeowners in the area of 141 Spruce Head Road in South Thomaston: On October 4, starting around 8 a.m. and remaining for the entire day until late evening, the South Thomaston Fire Department will be conducting Live Fire training at 141 Spruce Head Road.

Emergency Scene signs will be placed before the Fire Station in both directions to remind drivers of the activity that will be under way.

“We ask any and all bystanders NOT to park along the side of Spruce Head Road anywhere near the training site as we don’t want to interrupt traffic flow to the best of our abilities,” said Fire Chief Bryan Calderwood. “Spectators will NOT be allowed at the training site due to your own safety and COVID 19.

“There are situations that could arise that the Fire Department will be slowing and or stopping traffic flow on Spruce Head Road and it will be on a temporary time frame. We are asking you to avoid the area if at all possible to avoid congestion of traffic and on lookers.

If there are any questions or concerns please contact me directly at 596-6674. I will also be at the training on October 4 as well so if there are any issues please contact me.”
