CAMDEN — The David Clarke Trio will perform a SoundCheck concert Friday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m., at the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St. The one-set show is sponsored by First National Bank and will feature jazz standards and originals, featuring numbers by the late Wayne DeLano.
Belfast-area guitarist Clarke was performing gigs by age 13. After a four-year stint with the Air Force Band, he returned to Maine to open a music store. In addition to teaching music, Clarke has played in a number of Maine outfits including years in The Nite Show Band.
“Joining him for this evening of jazz will be another Midcoast mainstay, Ezra Rugg on bass; and youngblood powerhouse Bailey Giles on sax,” said the Opera House, in a news release.
Tickets are $10, and advance purchase is encouraged via camdenoperahouse.com and 236-3154. The opera house’s choose-your-own ticketing software ensures every-other- row distancing, as well as a couple of seats either side of each party’s reservation, for comfortable spacing, according to the Opera House. Masks are required in the building.
Doors will open at 7 p.m. SoundCheck also is livestreamed on the COH Facebook page.
