BELFAST — Friends of Sears Island and the Belfast Free Library will co-sponsor a presentation titled “Winter is Coming! How Animals Prepare and Interesting Survival Strategies,” by Sandra Mitchell, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m., at the Belfast Free Library.
Did you know that some dragonfly species migrate like birds, that wood frogs freeze solid for the winter, or that multiple species of snakes will often hibernate together?
Mitchell will discuss the fascinating ways different animals have adapted to survive the winter.
Sandra Mitchell is a Registered Maine Guide and an avid amateur naturalist. She is a Certified CyberTracker, and enjoys investigating natural mysteries. Her website is www.wildlynxnature.com/.
This event will take place in the Abbott Room at the Belfast Free Library and is free and open to the public.
