The public is invited to A Festival of Nine Lessons and carols at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, in Rockland, Saturday, December 10, at 4 p.m.
Sit within the quiet intimacy and beauty of the St. Peter's nave; follow the ancient scriptural retelling of God's saving, from Genesis through Christ's coming; join the St. Peter's Choir in singing beloved Christmas favorites, such as O Come all Ye Faithful, the First Nowell, Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Once in Royal David's City; allow yourself to be carried away from shopping, news, and social media, back to silence and your eternal grounding.
St. Peter's is the red church with the open door, in downtown Rockland, next to the public library. The church welcomes all people – questions, ideas, passions, stories, and experiences. A reception with refreshments will follow the service.
The Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Kate in the church office at 207.594.8191.
