ROCKLAND — Local artist Cynthia McGuirl presents the workshop "Simple Books: Fold & Stitch,” Thursday, Sept. 5, at 6:30 p.m., at the Rockland Public Library.
Participants in this mini Book Arts workshop will learn basic bookbinding techniques using easily available materials and tools. They’ll do a little folding and stitching and make a 6-page booklet from a single sheet of paper, and learn the versatile pamphlet stitch. Both are ‘no glue’ structures. Each student will go home with their sample books and instructions for creating them.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and artists who want to explore book making, and is open to teens and adults, but space is limited so registration is required.
Stop by the Library’s reference desk or call 594-0310 to register. All materials and tools will be provided.
The Library is located at 80 Union St.
