ROCKLAND — On Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6:30 p.m., members of both the Oceanside High School Concert Choir and Chamber Choir will join forces for a short concert, followed by a seasonal sing along, at the Rockland Public Library.
The Oceanside High School Concert Choir is an ensemble available to all students interested in continuing their vocal music education at the high school level. The Oceanside High School Chamber Choir is an auditioned ensemble which learns all of the same music as Concert Choir, with the exception of a few more advanced pieces that they perform separately. These students rehearse for 80 minutes every other day and perform two school concerts and at a few community service events throughout each school year.
Teacher Lauren Casey will lead the positivity-themed concert – to overcome, to see the beauty in and take advantage of every opportunity life has to offer, and to believe in yourself and others.
This is Casey’s fourth year at Oceanside High School as the Band, Choir, and General Music teacher. She received her bachelor of music in music education from Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire and has since resided in Rockland, where she teaches music, coaches field hockey, and plays flute in community ensembles.
The Rockland Public Library is located at 80 Union Street.
This event is free and open to the public.
