Searsport’s Pastor Ed Gabrielsen releases CD of inspirational songs
SEARSPORT — Pastor Ed Gabrielsen, of the Searsport First Congregational Church, has released a CD of inspirational songs in limited edition, which is now available for purchase. The album, entitled Tune My Heart, is comprised of favorite hymns and songs, as well as his own composition, titled Lullaby to the World.
Selections include many favorite hymns, learned while singing at his church growing up, or around the piano at home, and when visiting his grandparents during Ohio summers. All are sung in his rich tenor voice and provide inspiration to the listener in a calm and spiritual manner, according to the Church, in news release. He spent a year singing these favorites as his morning devotional, and eventually decided to record them for others.
Ed Gabrielsen loved music from an early age and found many ways to enjoy it. He formed a small rock band in the 8th grade in his hometown in Texas, began to study voice in his high school years, and played piano from an early age though lessons first taught by his mother and then outside the home. Over the years he has learned to play many instruments including Cornet, guitar, harmonium, harp, and more recently the organ in addition to his original piano.
His own composition, Lullaby to the World, came about as he noticed the great suffering of people around him, and feeling at a loss as to how to help them. Knowing music can be healing, he decided to sing and record his songs for others to hear in hopes it would help.
