Searsport’s Carver Library hosts December creativity efforts, bookclub

Event has passed

SEARSPORT— The Carver Library, located in Searsport, is providing creative kits in December, and will host one book club discussion about The Detective in the Dooryard.

The two creative kits to be offered in December are a yarn mandala project and a felt gnome project. Each of the kits allow library patrons the chance to explore their creativity with simple crafts. The yarn mandala project kits will be available to pick up at the library on Friday, December 3. The felt gnomes project kits will be available on Friday, December 10.

The library’s book club discussion is on the second Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. The event is held in the community building, located at 42 Prospect Street. All are welcome to listen or discuss the novel.

On Friday, December 10, the library will offer kits for their spice club, occurring on the second Friday of each month. The kits offer an opportunity to try new flavors, explore new recipes, or even get out of a cooking rut. The kits include a packet with the spice of the month, history and cultural background of the spice, and recipes highlighting the featured spice. There is no need to register; kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The library will be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, December 24 to 25, and will also be closed for New Year’s from December 31 to January 1.

The library is located at 12 Union Street in Searsport. To contact the library or find more information about their services, call 207-548-2303 or visit
