Satellite of West Bay Rotary raffles Braugh streetscape

Wed, 10/14/2020 - 6:45pm

On display at Christine’s Gallery at the Reny’s Plaza in Camden is a painting of a familiar streetscape by J.R. Braugh. His artist’s statement describes the morning walk he would make up from the windjammer he was working on to get coffee at French and Brawn in the winter while studying for his merchant marine license almost 20 years ago.

His musings as a student and schooner inhabitant inspired the painting which has been generously donated to the Satellite Club of West Bay Rotary to be raffled on October 24, 2020. The donor is Camden resident Joshua Grodzins and the funds raised will be used to support charitable causes.

Tickets may be purchased and the painting viewed at Christine’s Gallery, who also generously donated the mat and framing of the piece. Tickets are $20 each, 6 for $100. A total of 150 tickets will be available for sale. For more information, please contact Abe Dugal, 236-8376.

The Satellite of West Bay Rotary meets on the second and fourth Thursday of the month, 5:15 – 6:30 p.m., currently outdoors at Flatbread in Rockport. FMI: westbayrotaryofmaine.org/sitepage/rotary-satellite-club-of-west-bay-camden-suns.
