Samoset Resort donates $25,000 to Rockport’s new library

    ROCKPORT — The Samoset Resort donated $25,000 to Rockport’s new library building campaign Sept. 9. 

    In making the presentation, Regional General Manager Cornelius Russell said: “Samoset Resort is proud to support the Rockport Public Library. A library is not a luxury but rather an integral part of a rich and thriving community. As a business leader, we understand the importance of this organization and its contributions to our community. We’re honored to contribute to its continued presence in the greater Rockport area.”

    On hand with other members of the Rockport Library Foundation, Capital Campaign Co-Chair Joan Welsh added: “We’re delighted with the support we’ve been receiving from the community. Business leaders like the Samoset Resort continue to step up. With this donation, we have now surpassed $1.6 million in private donations toward our $2.0 million fundraising goal.”
