Sally A. Balsley, obituary

UNION — Sally A. Balsley, passed away on January 4, 2023 at Pen Bay Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Rockland, at the Knox County General Hospital, January 15, 1945, she was the daughter of Norman R. and Gladys B. Stinson. She graduated from Rockland High School.

Sally was a mom but she was known as Nan to her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all that knew her. The highlight of her life was spending time with her four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She greatly enjoyed music.

She was known for her seafood chowder during the holidays. Sally loved reminiscing about visiting Swans Island with her cousin Florence Hammond who she talked to daily before her passing. She enjoyed spending summers at Lucia Beach with her daughters, her sister, nieces and nephews. Sally loved to entertain, especially parties on her patio. She could strike up a conversation with anyone she was put beside. Her humor will forever
be missed.

Predeceased by both her parents, her siblings, Sandra Boyle and William Stinson Sr., and her nephews, Willian Stinson Jr., Joseph Boyle, Norman Boyle; she is survived by her loving husband Henry ‘Hank’ Balsley; her
children, Wendy Daggett and her husband Greg, Susan Whitman; her grandchildren, Greg Daggett, Brittany Dondlinger and her husband Andrew, Justin Porter and Riley Whitman; her great-grandchildren, Sebastian
Daggett, Gavin and Dylan Porter, Charley Thompson, Addilyn and Brooklyn Dondlinger.

A graveside committal service will be held in the spring with a celebration of life to follow.
