WALDO — Ruth Ann Bean, 65, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast.

Born September 11, 1956, in Rockland, to Herbert and Jane (Hart) Bean, she was raised on a poultry farm in Hope.

Ruth did not have any siblings, and was well taken care of by her family. Her parents, Herbert and Jane, cared for Ruth until Jane passed, and then Herbert continued caring for her into his elder years.

As an adult, Ruth would attend programming at Coastal Opportunities in Camden, and later with Beacon Family Living Inc. (BFLI) in Belfast. Ruth made many friends amongst the other clients and staff, and was well liked for her ready smile and easy-going manner. She had a joyful laugh, and it was impossible not to join her.

Later in life, Ruth would participate in Shared Living. She was well cared for by Judith Hurd, of Morrill, until Judy retired. Ruth would then join the family of Shirley and Jackie Morse of Waldo. Ruth would become part of the extended Morse family, living there for 7 years, until her passing.

With Shirley and Jack, Ruth would attend fairs, go camping, participate in family events, and vacation at Walt Disney World, amongst many other things. Ruth loved animals and children, and would refer to the young children in the Morse family as hers.

Ruth became very close to the Morse family, and the family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Shirley, and Jackie Morse, Jackie Morse, Jr., and his significant other, Leah Ward, Ronald Morse, and his significant other Courtney Howard, and their 3 children, Harrison Morse, Eloise Howard and Cora Howard, as well as Huey and Mindy Morse and their 3 children, Brady, Sawyer and Lennix Morse. Ruth truly became a member of their family, and was very happy during her time there.

Predeceased by her parents, Ruth is survived by many cousins and extended family.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Pine Grove Cemetery, Sennebec Road, in Appleton, Maine, with Dr. Jim Culbertson officiating.

A celebration of her life will follow at the Morrill Baptist Church (Veracity Chapel), 26 South Main Street, Morrill, ME 04952

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland.
