Sun, 10/18/2020 - 9:45pm

The following letter was shared Sunday, Oct. 18 by RSU 3 Superintendent Charles Brown.

RSU 3 serves the communities of Brooks, Freedom, Jackson, Knox, Liberty, Monroe, Montville, Thorndike, Troy, Unity and Waldo.

Dear RSU #3 Families and Community,

I hope this letter finds you well and that you are enjoying the beautiful fall days. It won’t be long until winter has arrived. I am writing to you in response to the recent news regarding the prevalence of COVID-19 in our local community and neighboring school district. RSU #3 will remain committed to our mission to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our students to learn and our staff to work.

I want to reassure you that RSU #3 will continue to follow all CDC and Maine DOE protocols. I have asked all staff to be extra diligent in our work to ensure that safety protocols are followed. We will continue to monitor the situation and make any
adjustments to our learning environment and school plans that are necessary, including; but not limited to the possibility of having to close schools down.

I ask for continued cooperation from our school families to adhere to our protocols as well. Families are required to complete a self-check on their child(ren) before they come to school each day. If your child has any symptoms and/or is feeling
unwell, please keep your child home from school and reach out to our school nurses.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s school. I appreciate your support and look forward to our continued work together as we navigate through this challenging time.

    Sincerely,
    Mr. Charles D. Brown, Superintendent
