CAMDEN — Gardeners Susan Shaw and Pat McLean will present Rose Day at Merryspring Nature Center on Tuesday, June 30, at 12 p.m.
Rose Day is an annual tradition at Merryspring going back decades. Shaw and McLean will lead this talk on growing roses that will include some history of rose gardening, how to choose good rose varieties for Maine’s climate, and medicinal uses for roses.
After the talk visitors will be allowed to tour the Rose Garden at Merryspring that was started by Glenn Jenks over 30 years ago.
This event is part of the Summer Talk series, sponsored by First National Bank. Please note that due to the on-going pandemic guests must take safety seriously during this program, and are advised to wear face masks. Seating for this event will be outdoors in chairs set-up a safe distance apart. This event is subject to change due to state and local regulations.
The cost of this program is $5, with free admission for Merryspring members. Guests are encouraged to bring exact change to minimize cash transactions.
