BELFAST — Rollie’s Bar & Grill will host its fourth annual Run for Kids 5K on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m in Belfast.
The event, to benefit the Shriner’s Hospital in Boston, will take place on the Belfast Rail Trail along the water. This is a flat course down and back, the event’s Facebook page noted.
The first 100 people to sign up will get a t-shirt.
Runners who finish as the top female and male will receive a special prize.
Those 21 and older can visit Rollie’s after the event for a complimentary beer.
The event will start at 8 a.m. with racers running or walking one-and-a-half miles and turning around to finish.
Registration will start at 7:15 a.m. at the start of the small footbridge.
Strollers will be allowed, though those with strollers in the 5K will start behind the runners. After the start of the race, organizers ask participants with strollers stay on the right side of the course as the runners will be turning around and coming back. Organizers ask those with strollers not block the course with side by side strollers.
The race is part of the RunBelfast series and will be timed this year.
The RunBelfast Series is grateful for sponsorship from Damariscotta Bank & Trust and Journey to Health (MaineHealth).
Registration can be completed here.
