PenBayPilot.com and the Town of Rockport are jointly holding a Candidates’ Night for the four candidates who are seeking election to the Rockport Select Board at the June 13 polls, the day before annual Town Meeting.

The forum, moderated by Rockport resident Bob Duke, will be held at the Geoffrey C. Parker Meeting Room at the Rockport Opera House, 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Click here to watch the May 16 Candidates’ Forum.

If you can’t make it to the forum but want to submit a question, call or text Lynda Clancy, 207-706-6657, or email lyndaclancy@penbaypilot.com, to get it posed to the candidates.

The forum format will allow for each candidate to deliver an opening statement, and then each will have two minutes to respond to questions from the floor. If warranted, there will be time or follow-up questions. Candidates will also each be allowed two minutes for closing statements.

There are two available three-year seats on the Select Board, currently occupied by Chairman Ken McKinley and Owen Casas.

There is also a one-year seat that was vacated by former Select Board member Tom Gray, who resigned in March. McKinley is the only candidate seeking that seat.

Casas is not seeking re-election.

The three seeking election to the two three-year seats are:

Debra Hall

John Alexander

Jeffrey Hamilton

Plan to attend or watch the forum and get better acquainted with your Select Board candidates before casting your votes June 12 at the polls.
