Rockport outlines municipal plan for COVID-19 days

    The Town of Rockport issued its plan of action this afternoon, March 16:  Rockport is closely monitoring the pandemic status in Maine and in Knox County and will make additional decisions and provide updates as the situation warrants. Our goal is to keep our community safe by reducing the risk of exposure to and incidents of COVID-19 in our community.

    The Town Office will remain open until further notice, however:

    • Residents are encouraged to utilize online services (www.rockportmaine.gov).

    • Residents should call the Town Office (236-9648) before visiting the Town Office as staff may be able to assist you over the phone or through email and
    • Tax payments due on April 15th should be mailed to the Town Office, Attn: Linda Greenlaw, 101 Main Street, Rockport, ME 04856.
    • Public Access to back-office areas of the Town Office will be limited. Customers should use the Clerk’s Counter. Applications and requests including, but not limited to vital record requests, building permits, etc. will be available in the Town Office lobby. These documents can be completed and submitted in the drop-box in the lobby.

      Board and Committee Meetings

    • Non-essential committee and commission meetings are postponed/cancelled until further notice.

    • Select Board meetings will continue as scheduled until further notice, but social  distancing will be practiced at the meetings. Residents are encouraged to send email comments to wpost@rockportmaine.gov on agenda or non-agenda items and to watch the Livestream of the meetings and post comments through the Livestream.

      The Rockport Public Library will remain open until further notice, however, all events and gatherings at the Library are postponed or cancelled until further notice.

    • All events at the Opera House are cancelled through April 30, 2020.
