(Rockland’s Got A) Brand New Bag: tote-making demonstration
ROCKLAND – "(Rockland’s Got A) Brand New Bag" is a demo and hands-on workshop at the Library, Thursday, Sept. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Starting on January 1, 2019, single-use plastic bags and polystyrene foam food containers will no longer be distributed in Rockland.
Leah Ondra from Clementine will present a bag making demo for a simple Market Tote and Drawstring Pouch, plus a Tulle Produce Bag. The demo will show how to quickly stitch up three useful bag styles with a half yard of fabric and tulle, including basic bag making techniques and strong seam finishes.
Pack your tote and produce bags into the drawstring pouch and you’ve got eco-shopping bags at the ready.
For the hands-on portion of the evening, Librarian Patty King and Emily Horne Jeffries from the Co-op will teach participants how to make no-sew t-shirt bags.
Some t-shirts will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own, if they can.
