Rockland man accused of sexually assaulting girl multiple times

    ROCKLAND — A 64-year-old Rockland man remains at the Knox County Jail after he was arrested Oct. 17, accused of sexually assaulting a girl over a four-year period.

    Donald N. Wood was charged by Rockland police with 10 counts of gross sexual assault, 11 counts of unlawful sexual contact, and one count of disorderly conduct.

    Wood made his initial appearance in Knox County Unified Court Oct. 18 before Justice Bruce Mallonee. His bail was set at $25,000 cash.

    According to the affidavit filed in court by Rockland police, the victim stated that she was sexually abused by Wood from 2013 through 2016. She confirmed that she was 12 years old when the alleged abuse began.

    Wood denied that he abused the girl and agreed take a polygraph test. He then retained an attorney and refused to take the test, according to the affidavit.

    He will appear in court again on Dec. 12 for a dispositional conference.
