ROCKLAND — The Rockland Historical Society and the Rockland Public Library will sponsor a program about the Apprenticeshop on Tuesday, June 21, at 6:30 p.m., in the library Community Room.

Executive Director Isabella Feracci and Director of Student Affairs and Outreach Nina Noah will give a power point presentation about the boatbuilding program and share their plans for the 50th Anniversary of the Apprenticeshop.

Lance Lee founded the Apprenticeshop at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath in 1972. It moved to Rockport in 1982, and to its present location at 655 Main Street in Rockland in 1999.

The Apprenticeshop involves youth and adults in after school programs, in boatbuilding, in sailing classes, and many aspects of seamanship.

Following the program, attendees will adjourn to the Rockland Historical Society Museum for cookies, lemonade, and conversation.
