Rockland community picnic planning meeting set for May 16
ROCKLAND- A community Picinic Event scheduled for July 27 at MacDougal Community Park is being organized/coordinated by WRFR as a Rockland community/family/children celebration. It will be free and open to all. It will begin with a free community picnic at noon. Fire pit baked beans and kettle corn have already been offered and we are looking for further food donations/preparations.
Organizers are open to all kinds of afternoon activities, for children, teens and adults.
Music, arts and crafts, competitions, games, raffles, demonstrations and things we have not yet imagined are all welcome.
The preliminary meeting will take place on Thursday, May 16 at 5 p.m. at WRFR 20 Gay Street. The purpose of the meeting is to gather ideas, contributions and volunteers for a great community event. This summer’s event is the outgrowth of community picnics informally organized at the park by community volunteers both last year and the year before. The first year 20 people came, last year 70, and organizers hope to continue to grow the event. For more information please contact Jo Lindsay at firstname.lastname@example.org or 207-691-7613.
