ROCKPORT — The Ripple Initiative is hosting its third annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central Street, Rockport.
Featured at the fundraiser will be a raffle auction, plenty of grub and grog, a 50/50 raffle, and a prize for the ugliest holiday sweater.
Music will be provided by the Right Track band – a high energy and B/Funk/Soul band with a full horns section, specializing in set lists to get all age groups on the dance floor.
TRI was founded in 2016 and opened the doors of its full-scale Furniture Bank in May of this year. The bank provides furniture and household goods free of charge to people of Knox and Waldo counties transitioning to stable housing.
Trevor Strasburg of Humble Designs Org. states that without furnishings and household goods provided, 50 percent of assisted people and families return to shelters within one year, according to TRI, in a news release. When basic necessities are provided, that number drops to 1 percent. The furniture bank is located at 394 Old County Road and is accessed by appointment only.
For services, contact Sharon at 207-691-3827. To donate gently used furniture and household goods, contact Alicia at 207-701-7530.
TRI Furniture Bank is a 501C3 nonprofit and donations are fully tax deductible as allowed by law.
