Riley School Open House on Maine Maple Sunday
ROCKPORT — On Sunday, March 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Riley School will be open to the public for Maple Syrup Sunday. All are welcome! This family friendly event will include live music indoors, campus tours, tasty treats with Riley Gold, and craft activities. This is Riley's 8th year on the statewide Maine Maple Sunday tour. The campus production is small scale, using simple taps and buckets to collect sap and boil over a wood fire. It is a hands-on endeavor and the children are involved in all parts of the process. Come share the joys of making syrup and see how Lower School Facilitator, Todd Martin, uses making syrup part of Riley's academic program.
The Riley School is a progressive school where children learn by doing, questioning, and discovering. Small, multi-age classes provide opportunities to build strong, collaborative relationships and to nurture the unique talents of each individual. Accredited by the New England Association of School and Colleges and the Maine State Department of Education, the Riley School enrolls children ages 4-14, and starting at 18 months for the Wade Acres toddler program. Applications are currently being accepted for the 2018-19 school year.
