Learn to sew reusable bags; bring bikes, appliances for team of tinkerers

Repair Cafe at Belfast Farmers Market

Event has passed

BELFAST — Belfast Community Works will be hosting a free Repair Cafe at the Belfast Farmers' Market on Friday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This event is all about sharing good practical knowledge, helping the environment by keeping stuff out of the landfill, and building community, according to Works, in a news release.

Everyone is invited to learn how to sew an upcycled reusable produce bag.

If your bike has a flat tire, bring it over and the Cafe will help you to patch it or replace it (please bring your inner tubes).

Do you have a lamp that won’t light, broken blender, toasted toaster or frayed electrical cords? A team of tinkerers will also be available to work with you to fix small electrical appliances. Bring replacement parts if you have them.

Belfast Community Works is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to be a shared space for makers, builders, tinkerers, and dreamers of all ages that enriches the community and encourages innovation, creativity, and connections throughout Belfast and beyond.
