OWLS HEAD — Join Owls Head Village Library for a lively celebration of the renovation and reopening of its Mary Dyer Children’s Room, Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Activities will include a ribbon cutting, free pizza from Uproot Pie Co., book readings from children’s authors Chris van Dusen and Stephen Costanza, music and other children’s activities.

“Anyone desiring a signed copy of Chris or Stephen’s books should purchase in advance locally (or bring with you from home!),” said OHVL, in a news release.

The children’s room has received a total makeover with a top to bottom renovation and many new books thanks to a grant from the Pilcrow Foundation and funds from a Salty Owl bake sale. The library wants to thank the many community members who have participated in making this dream come true including Aaron Davis, Viking Lumber, E.L. Spear, Dona Mollo, the Owls Head Baptist Church, Dale Beal and especially the Susan Kirwan, W. Garth Smith family.

FMI, pick up a library newsletter from the Owls Head General Store, Town Hall, library (the red Little Free Library outside is “open” 24/7”) or phone Kerry Hadley at (207) 596-3884.

The library is located at 31 South Shore Drive, in Owls Head, just a bit down South Shore Drive from the town center.

The event will take place, due to the generosity of the Owls Head Baptist Church, in their parking lot and inside the library itself.
