BELFAST — Coastal Mountains Land Trust is inviting the public to join Land Trust staff members to help improve the trails and habitat at the Head of Tide Preserve. This event is taking place in coordination with the nationwide National Trails Day and the Maine Trail Coalition’s Love Maine Trails Month.

Sunday, June 4, starting at 9 a.m., at the Land Trust’s stewardship building, “the Shed of Tides” at the trailhead at 91 Doak Road in Belfast, volunteers will work together for approximately 3 hours. No experience necessary, just a willingness to work outside removing invasive plants, digging water bars, and cutting roots. Please wear closed-toe footwear and long pants and bring a pair of work gloves (we will have extras) and a water bottle. Prepare for ticks and black flies. Coffee and snacks will be provided.

Directions: Drive out of downtown Belfast on High St, and cross Route 1. Drive 1.0 mile and turn right onto Doak Road. The Head of Tide trailhead is on the right after 0.9 miles, park on the right (Head of Tide) side of the road if the parking lot is full.

To Register: Please sign up if you plan to come. Email jacks@coastalmountains.org
